100% is determined to keep going! Looking back on an intense but wonderful course

Johan and I have just finished our final meetings with the 60-plus staff members of our second online course of the year. Yes, that one's finished too! It was quite a task, with over 220 students in five different languages. But it’s wonderful to hear so many positive stories!

Here’s a small selection of the responses:

  • Brazil: A missionary at a community centre was deeply moved by the lesson on the character of the teacher. He realized that his attitude, whether loving or authoritarian, has a huge impact. He was so affected that the next day he asked the children for forgiveness.
  • India: A missionary was delighted with the anti-human trafficking materials. She is now translating all of the materials into Hindi so that she can educate teenagers at local schools.
  • North Korean refugee children: Several missionaries reported that they learned so much during the lesson on collective trauma. They plan to use the downloaded materials (a children’s workbook and a facilitator’s guide) with the children immediately.

With students from over 50 countries and 60 staff members in attendance, it was a truly special time.

“Are you making good money off this too?” someone recently asked us. The answer is no. We deliberately charge just $5 for the course so that it remains accessible to missionaries working with children in need around the world. All of our staff are volunteers, most of whom are affiliated with Youth With a Mission. For us, it's not about the money, but about equipping and encouraging these missionaries in their often challenging roles.

The course is officially registered with the University of the Nations, meaning students receive credits and a diploma for completing it.

Using AI, we have created a short video about the teachings and an attractive visual summary of the impact of this second module. It certainly speaks volumes that all of the students want to move on to the third module, which we hope to start in a few months.

But for now, it's time to take a break and enjoy a week's holiday in the South of Holland!

Thank you so much for continuing to pray for us, and for keeping up to date with our news. Thank you for your generous donations. Please let us know how we can pray for you!

God's rich blessings!
